CONTRACT OPERATIONS

I worked for contract operators between 1987 and 1999 in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  Highlights include

Serving as Operations Specialist and Trainer at the 8 MGD Barceloneta Puerto Rico Wastewater Treatment Plant for Operations Management International (OMI).  Our task was to maintain compliance during a major plant upgrade and update the training for all plant staff.  We maintained a perfect compliance record during the 2-year construction phase and achieved a 24% operator certification rate.  Certification was voluntary at that time.  The plant received mostly industrial wastes and used biosolids injection into hay fields for reuse.
